Welcome to YACRO, the Yarmouth Association for Community Residential Options!
As our Philosophy states YACRO exists to support, in residential and vocational settings, people who have disabilities. The people we support are often very vulnerable. Our objective is to provide a setting structured to help support the individual as they require.
To be able to support people within our Organization, we must be aware of their rights, their life experiences, their vulnerability and their support needs.
YACRO support workers create an environment based upon mutual understanding and respect. One which allows people to maintain their individuality, grow as human beings and allows for varied forms of self-expression.
Our dedication to enhancing our community with diversity is key. Each person is of value and can add something to every corner of the world. We are committed to ensuring that everyone’s abilities are appreciated and respected.
Our goal is to provide support in a compassionate, caring and gentle fashion while at the same time assisting people to acquire the skills that are necessary to navigate through this very complex world.
We are an organization that uses a relationship-based, person-centered approach to the services that we offer. We respect the rights of the people we support and we are always looking for opportunities to help them to grow and thrive within the community in all aspects.
Last but most importantly, it is key for our support workers to always remember that they are working and supporting someone to live in THEIR HOME. This must always be respected first and foremost.
Sincerely,
Tracy Holmes-Carbonell
YACRO, Executive Director
